Americans, Here’s How To Vote From Abroad

1

It goes without saying that this US Presidential election may be the most crucial in recent history. It’s certainly the craziest. I’m assuming no one reading this is voting for Cheeto Small-Hands. If you are, seriously, please just close this window and never come back here. We don’t want to know you. Ever.

Otherwise, getting your absentee ballot will require you registering online. We found Vote from Abroad very easy to navigate. There’s also the Federal Voting Assistance Program.

After you fill out the form, print it, sign it and mail it. It’s very straightforward. They also give you information about what to do if you don’t receive your state’s ballot in time. (It’s called a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot or FWAB.)

And here’s the US State Department’s site with all the official info in super dry language.

It’s easy to feel disconnected as expats but our vote counts just as much as if we were back home. Voting is a privilege and one we should be proud to exercise. By November, history will be made. POTUS will either be a supremely qualified woman or a short-fingered, racist, sexist, fascist clementine.

Be on the right side of history and VOTE.
