We are flooded here in Paris and in Germany. Yeah, of course it’s related to global warming.

But we’re not going to let a little bunch of rain get us down are we? Love this Italian teacher’s prescription to his students for a blissful summer as well as these ways to up our emotional IQ. It all adds up to having more joy in our lives.

When it comes to joy, nothing kills it quicker than envy or jealousy. Here’s how to get a handle on it. This one’s especially useful for the writers and bloggers out there!

Is this amazing or gross? Trader Joe’s new uncured bacon jam… I’d be happy just to get some decent American-style bacon every now and again. (I know, I know, it exists in France, just not at my Monoprix.)

Also overlapping on the amazing/gross Venn diagram: The Japanese Baby Foot Peel.

This is simply amazing: A recipe for champagne gummy bears! So’s the news that spicy food makes you live longer. Pass the awesome (hot) sauce!

Remember when we learned that we’re supposed to praise kids for effort and not smarts? Well, that wasn’t exactly it.

Some life-management tips that seem useful and doable. We’re also into this minivan of bikes, though not sure how it would do on Paris streets.

We’re not one to take those silly FB quizzes, but come on, who doesn’t want to know which GoT character they are? Stannis Baratheon?! (Retaking until we get Danaerys… crap, Tywin Lannister???)

While you’re stuck indoors wondering when the sun will come out, here’s some inspiration to follow through on your billion-dollar idea: Forbes’ list of America’s richest self-made women. From Oprah to Taylor Swift and 3 newcomers who might surprise you.

Have a terrific weekend! Stay dry!
